Scholarships

Purpose

To continue Peggy and Bill Arbaugh’s legacy of charity, kindness and passion for education. Our Mission is “to provide resources for those who are struggling, to help them meet education goals to elevate their opportunities and support a better life.”

Award Components

The amount to be awarded to each successful applicant will be determined by the Board and will range from $500 to $4,000.

Eligibility Criteria

Scholarship is open to any high-school graduate or GED-holder for post-secondary education. Scholarship may be for any accredited university, community college, trade school, or vocational school, or other program or school approved by the board.
Applicants with significant gaps between high school and continuing education are welcome to apply.

Timeline

The Scholarship application process typically opens in January of each year, with a mid-March deadline.

  • January 1: Application opens
  • March 16: Applications due by 6:00 PM PT
  • March 17 – April 14: Applications are reviewed and finalists are contacted. (Board reserves the right to contact applicants for additional details if needed during this period).
  • April 14: Deadline for finalists to be contacted
  • April 17 – April 27: Finalist interviews conducted (if necessary)
  • April 28: Final recipient(s) announced for Fall

If scholarships are not awarded, the committee reserves the right to open a second fall application process with the following dates:

  • June 1: Application opens
  • August 16: Applications due by 6:00 PM PT
  • August 17 – September 14: Applications are reviewed and finalists are contacted (Board reserves right to contact applicants for additional details if needed during this period)
  • September 14: Deadline for finalists to be contacted
  • September 17 – September 27: Finalist interviews conducted (if necessary)
  • September 28: Final recipient(s) announced for Spring

Terms and Conditions

If I am selected as a scholarship winner and in consideration thereof, I understand, agree and hereby grant permission to the Arbaugh Legacy Foundation to use my likeness and name in announcing and promoting this scholarship program. I understand and agree that Arbaugh Legacy Foundation is solely responsible for the selection of the scholarship winners and its decision is final. I have completed the Scholarship Application and have attached the requisite verification documents. I certify that the information is complete and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand and agree that falsification of information will result in termination of the Arbaugh Legacy Foundation 2024 Scholarship. In submitting this application, I agree to the above terms and conditions.

Application Requirements

  1. Complete Application.
  2. DEADLINE for Scholarship Application is 08/16 or 03/16 at 6:00PM Pacific time. (No Exceptions).
  3. Refer to Application for a list of the supporting documents needed (reference forms, evidence of GPA, etc.). Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  4. Type or print legibly. Illegible applications will not be accepted.
  5. You will be notified by mail, phone call or email of the status of your application.

Special Provisions

  • Scholarship funds will be issued directly to the recipient’s campus and may not be used to pay back college loans of any kind.
  • Recipients must receive a minimum GPA of at least 2.5, or meet the minimum institutional requirement to received degree / or program completion in order to receive second semester funds.
  • For academic year programs, the scholarship will be divided into a Fall and a Spring payment to your campus or school. Lump sums will not be paid out in full. The Board may make special provisions for payment to educational institutions using a trimester or other type of schedule period.
